Carl Robertson Bio
While 'chucking monos' on a BMX bike in the back lot of the South Australian Film Corporation, Carl saw a film crew working on the set of the movie, Playing Beatie Bow. As a 10-year-old, he was intrigued by the crazy circus of people and processes surrounding the 'giraffe-like' black box that was the camera!
Carl has come a long way since then. He has sold his BMX, and moved to Sydney in 1998 to pursue his dreams of becoming a cinematographer. Along with his AFTRS achievements, Carl has worked on a range of drama and documentary productions at the ABC. He is also currently resident cinematographer for Vanguard Pictures.
In the future, Carl is keen to explore the world of drama and VFX cinematography.
