ACS becomes IMAGO Associate Member

2008 IF Award nominations announced
The 10th annual Inside Film Awards kicked off today, with the announcement of the 2008 IF Award nominees including ACS Members Denson Baker ACS, Robert Humphreys ACS and the recently accredited Jules O'Loughlin.
Mandy Walker is Hollywood DOP of the Year
Australian cinematographer Mandy Walker ACS will be one of the honourees at the 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards. She will receive the "Hollywood Cinematographer of the Year Award" during a gala ceremony on October 27 in Los Angeles.

IMAGO the European Federation of Cinematographers has invited ACS to join as an associate member, which will be ratified at their council meeting in early 2008.

Ausfilm has appointed Panavision Australia Managing Director Martin Cayzer as Chairman of Ausfilm for a two-year term. Ausfilm's elected Board, which comprises senior representatives of the screen-services sector in Australia, chooses the Chairman, in addition to two Deputy Chairs.

2007 AFI Awards

Melbourne - 5 December 2007

Australia’s film and television industry talent were tonight rewarded for their outstanding achievements at the L'Oréal Paris 2007 AFI Industry Awards – presented by Digital Pictures.

Hosted by Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush, the event was held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Cinematography Winners included:

Cuttlefish – The Brainy Bunch was presented the AFI Award for Best Cinematography in a Documentary, awarded to Malcolm Ludgate ACS, Joel Peterson and Scott Carrithers.

Mark Lapwood ACS (Cinematography) collected the AFI Award for Outstanding

Achievement in Short Film Screen Craft for his work on Eclipse.

The Home Song Stories took home five of the feature film awards, with Nigel Bluck collecting the AFI Award for Best Cinematography.
